From a concept developed by the Fishing Industry and Rotary, this event which started in 1997 in collaboration with Seafearer’s Memorial Trust has now been held for 20 years.

Though it is a memorial service for those who have lost their lives at sea it  also through the blessing reinforces the importance of Nelson as Australasia’s largest fishing port.
