Completed in 1968 with a significant upgrade which commenced in 2017.
For 54 years Rotoiti Lodge has been hosting secondary school groups from across the “top of the South” for outdoor education programmes.
The centre which was founded by former policeman ,Sergeant Noel Oxnam because of his belief that exposure of youth to the outdoors would help build character and better citizens.
Rotary clubs at the “top of the South” were there at the start including Nelson Rotary so it is fitting that when the centre required significant upgrade that the Rotary Club of Whakatu took the lead supported by the clubs again across the “top of the South” collaborating to deliver on the Rotary Foundation and other funders financed the work.
We would love to hear from you
